Arrival on Curaçao
You will need, as for most other countries, a valid passport. Before landing you will receive a landing card
(one for each person) which has to be filled in. Customs will require this card, leaving one part of it in
your passport. You must be able to show this at your departure from the island. So please, leave this in the
safe while staying in the villa.
At arrival, you will pass customs first (which can take some time after landing of a 747…) en after that you
will collect your bags and pass customs for the second time. This goes smoothly most of the time.
At the belt you will find carts to put your bags on; the cost about US 3,- (the machine accepts 1-dollarnotes).
If your bags do have wheels, you won’t need a cart as it is a small airport and our caretaker is waiting for
you about 50 meters after passing customs.
A cash dispenser is also available when arriving (at the belt where you collect your bags). The offer Antillean
Guilders (recommended) and US dollars.
If our caretaker is waiting for you, he will assist you and bring you to the villa. He can be recognized by a
sign with name on it. You cannot miss him!
If you decide to rent a car from a company on the airport, go to their desk and collect the car.
Driving instructions will be send to you before departure.
Departure
You may have to pay departure tax (please see the Flights section).
If your returning flight is to Amsterdam, please be aware that an extensive check on hard and soft drugs can be expected
at Amsterdam airport. Several checks are made and it may take some time if Amsterdam is your final destination.
